Mandatory training is essential in
order to ensure that all parties involved with animal use at Michigan State
University are aware of their responsibilities as dictated by the Animal Welfare
Act (IACUC Policy #20)
This tutorial is for all scientists,
research technicians, animal technicians, and other personnel involved in animal
care, treatment and use. At the end of this seminar you will be able to:
- Work effectively with MSU's IACUC
- Conduct your research in compliance
with Federal, State and University Regulations and Guidelines
- Put together effective research
designs
- Search for alternatives (reduce,
refine, replace)
- Make appropriate choices in the
use of anesthetics, analgesics, tranquilizing and euthanasia agents
- Enroll in additional training
as needed
- Understand responsibilities for
on-going research
- Contact key people at MSU for
help
